Random Trip Numero Uno

I guess it was somewhere between the second and third semester, when I was single and available for kidnapping anytime and anywhere. I started to occasionally hang out with Kiki and everyone else (won’t be specific, don’t feel like it since this story only involves Kiki).

I don’t really remember the details of HOW we ended up in Nyoman’s car.

I guess we (Kiki, Nyoman, Gede and of course, yours truly) were so bored that we felt like taking a short drive around Bandung. So we ended up circling Dago-Riau-Braga. If you don’t know, Braga is like, the centre of, errr.. “night life” to put it lightly. As in where all the call girls and semi-girls hang out and sell themselves.

Braga

Braga. Such a shame, it’s a nice place with a vintage feeling (if it weren’t for the poor maintenance of the buildings).

Now me and Kiki, we had never been to that area at night. And being curious, we wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

So Nyoman and Gede took us for a spin around Braga and we actually saw these girls on the street in tight tees and short skirts/ shorts.

I thought they would be pretty, but damn, they were FAR from good looking. Ok, maybe not that bad, but still, I though prostitutes were supposed to be glam and dressed up. Been watching too many movies.. :/

We took a left turn somewhere around Braga and saw a very disturbing scene.

A guy was being surrounded by, ehm, semi-girls in the middle of a dark street (mind you, it was around 10pm). Creepy. They were surrounding him, ready to pounce. And either Nyoman or Gede was kind enough to actually open the car window as we passed the scene of the crime.

I thought they were attacking the guy or teasing the poor passer-by or something, but Nyoman said that the guy was probably looking for “cheap sleep” (I don’t have the guts to write it, haha).

I guess it doesn’t get any cheaper than that.

Of course, before taking us back home, Nyoman couldn’t resist telling a nice ghoulish ghost story, about some abandoned ambulance that was haunted by a ghost near the area.

Thanks a lot for the lovely night cap.
